New Nuggets! Major Mother Lode Found in Australia
Talk about striking it rich! An Australian prospector recently uncovered a 145-ounce gold nugget in Victoria, a stunning seaside state in South-East Australia that includes the world-famous city of Melbourne. In fact, this isn't the first solid nugget that the prospector, who is keeping his identity a secret, has uncovered. He found a tennis ball-sized nugget before returning to search for any more gold that might be near the initial treasure, and X certainly marked the spot! After using a metal detector, the prospector dug about a foot into the earth and uncovered this beauty!
After finding the nugget, the prospector knew he'd have to store it safely in a bank vault. However, for his first night as the nugget's proud owner, the prospector stored it in his oven!
Now, the prospector is getting ready to put the nugget up for auction, and we can see why: The nugget is valued at nearly $200,000!
The happy treasure-seeker is using the money he makes from the nugget to purchase a luxury van and tour around Australia. Where would you keep a nugget the first night you found it? What would you use the money you sold it for to do?
